The Body of Queer & The Unicorn Dreams of Freedom explores the personal experiences of queer and trans bodies through sculpture, photography, and installation. The exhibition brings together the works of Fel Kod and Jäämyrsky, creating a dialogue about identity, embodiment, visibility, and the freedom to exist as oneself.
Jäämyrsky’s photographic works reflect on the experience of living in a body that has often been questioned, controlled, or seen as “different”. The works explore the relationship between body and soul, personal and collective memories, and the impact of social expectations on the way we experience ourselves. The body becomes a place where experiences, struggles, transformation, and the search for freedom are carried.
Fel Kod’s sculptures use recycled plastic as a metaphor for the queer body — a material that can be reshaped, transformed, and allowed to find its own form. Through their work, Fel Kod explores the diversity of queer identities and challenges the idea of a single “correct” body or way of being.
Together, the artists create a space where bodies are not defined by limitations, but by possibility. The exhibition celebrates difference, self-expression, and the right to exist fully and freely.

The Body of Queer & The Unicorn Dreams of Freedom käsittelee taiteilijoiden henkilökohtaisia kokemuksia queer- ja trans-kehoista veistosten, valokuvien ja installaatioiden kautta. Näyttely yhdistää Fel Kodin ja Jäämyrskyn teokset pohtien identiteettiä, kehollisuutta, näkyvyyttä ja vapautta olla oma itsensä.
Jäämyrskyn valokuvateokset käsittelevät kokemusta kehosta, jota on usein katsottu ulkopuolelta, määritelty tai kyseenalaistettu. Teokset tutkivat kehon ja sielun suhdetta, henkilökohtaisia ja yhteisiä kokemuksia sekä sitä, miten yhteiskunnan odotukset vaikuttavat tapaamme kokea itsemme. Keho toimii paikkana, jossa muistot, muutos ja vapauden kaipuu kohtaavat.
Fel Kodin veistoksissa kierrätysmuovi toimii queer-kehon vertauskuvana — materiaalina, jota voidaan muokata, muuttaa ja antaa löytää oma muotonsa. Teokset tuovat esiin queer-identiteettien monimuotoisuutta ja haastavat ajatuksen yhdestä oikeasta kehosta tai olemisen tavasta.
Yhdessä taiteilijat luovat tilan, jossa kehoja ei nähdä rajoitusten kautta vaan mahdollisuuksien kautta. Näyttely juhlistaa erilaisuutta, itseilmaisua ja vapautta olla olemassa omana itsenään.
